The Idaho Angler was introduced to the public around June of 1993 in the heart of Boise, Idaho. Some four close friends, all of whom are fly-fishing lovers, basically founded the shop.
The four fly-fisher enthusiasts are Don and Knickrehm, John Croner and Ken Pulsley, each having their respective successful careers in their own fields of endeavors.
The Idaho Angler shop was actually created out of the four friends’ experiences in fly-fishing in some parts of the western United States, Alaska, and some other salt-water locations.
The friends have observed keenly some great and helpful shops around fly-fishing destinations. They soon realized that they, too, could actually open a shop in the Southwest Idaho location, particularly in Boise.
Without wasting much time, the four fly-fishing enthusiasts have invested for the Idaho Angler shop. Their shop basically provides the best customer service with the most accurate fishing information.
After a few years, the founder of the Idaho Angler shop has started to open its doors for another useful help to their customers, this time by offering fly-fishing classes.

In 1999, the Idaho Angler shop’s first branch was opened in Vista Avenue. The location is considered the gateway boulevard to Boise, and provided better rooms, outdoor casting areas, and easier access for customers.
By then, Shauna Williams and Don Knickherm, both earned their own certificate of being Casting Instructors. The Idaho Angler shop’s manager, Tim Blount, is also a master in the field of fly tier, and his fly patterns have already been featured on some major fly-fishing publications.
