Since the advent of digital technologies in cameras and motion picture recording, movie production costs was considerably lower.
To that effect when wealthy nations with masses that can easily afford digital equipment and have plenty of free time to boot, the production of independent films did also increase dramatically.
Though most are duds, always there’s a gem that could really shine even with meager budget rivaling those licensed pictures to shame.
Like the Blair Witch Project whose catalytic appearance really did revitalize the waning aggressiveness of indie (independent) films since the 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre by director Tobe Hopper?
And for the trivia: guess how much did the Texas Chainsaw Massacre cost to get out of production? It was produced on a budget of just $140,000, which is a sharp contrast of the grossed $30, 859, 000 at the U.S. Box Office.
Paradoxically, only a fraction of that amount made it to the hands of Tobe Hopper and the rest of the film’s crew. Blair Witch Project even has a smaller budget of $25,000, consisting only of documentaries and interviewed townspeople of Burkittsville.
