People adopt pet birds for different reasons. There may be some who find feathered friends extremely relaxing and love the colorful plumage.

While, there are others who take interest on the ability of some birds to adapt human language.

Pet birds can be both those common and domesticated breeds of birds. People have taking care of birds since three to four centuries ago. These birds graced numerous kingdoms and palaces before it entered out living rooms.

So, if you are thinking of getting a feathered friend and unsure about what to pick out, there are some considerations you have to think about. This would include ability to handle additional financial obligations and taking care of a pet.

Birds are not easy maintenance pets, unlike what most people think. They are social animals who need attention from their owners. And you can be surprised how long these birds can live!

If you have fully considered taking care of a bird but indecisive of what kind you can take care of, here are some information about the most popular bird choices.

Popular bird choices

• Parakeets

This bird can also be called a Budgerigar or sometimes Budgies. These birds are ideal if you are just a starting bird owner, they are sociable towards each other and to humans.

Their size range from small to medium making it easier to care for compared with big birds. Their life expectancy is about 12 to 14 years. But they tend to be noisy sometimes and destructive of their surroundings.

• Cockatiels

Cockatiels are birds members of the parrot family making them capable of learning human words. They are also pretty much advanced in their singing and whistling capabilities.

They are also very much capable of copying sounds like a car alarm, ringing phone or other bird calls. There are different colors for these birds and can live up between 15 to 20 years.

• Canaries

Canaries are also very popular birds. This kind of bird is ideal for those pet owners who cannot give maximum attention to their birds.

These birds pay little attention to humans and prefer to live in small flocks. Their life span would be about 10 years. What‘s great about canaries is that they sing beautifully. Male canaries have richer voices than females.

• Lovebirds

These birds are ideal if you live in a place where you are very close to neighbors who do not want too much bird noise. They can be very quiet and can live up to 20 years.

They are also part of the parrot family. Some pet owners would rather have a single lovebird rather than a usual pair, so that the bird can bond more with the owner than the other bird.

• African greys

African Greys are said to be the most intelligent of the birds, especially in terms of their vocabulary. This intelligence is why it is important for an African Grey to have a lot of stimulating toys around their cage. These kinds of birds can live up to 50 to 70 years.

But not all pet owners are happy with having domesticated pet birds. There are pet owners who prefer exotic birds which are usually from countries in Asia, Africa or Australia.

Most of pet owners would choose birds from the parrot family since they would have very delightful colors and can show supreme intelligence.

But when importing birds from other countries, there are important regulations and rules which should be followed.

Rules and regulations to follow when importing birds from other countries

Smuggling birds in countries can have an effect on the number of birds in their natural habitat (which sometimes lead to endangerment) and worse health for the birds and humans too.

Serious diseases happened in the United States because of failure in undergoing the proper procedure for bringing exotic and wild pets in the country. Examples of these diseases would be avian flu or the exotic Newcastle Disease.

When bringing in a bird in the country, make sure that you birds have been checked by veterinarians and avian experts for diseases. They should have a health certificated from the veterinarian and at the same time the permit issued by the government. Most cases of aviary disease and their outbreak can be traced to birds who have entered the country by illegal means.

There are many options when picking out the right pet bird for you. Regardless of its breed, size, or appearance, the most important thing is to take into consideration is that they would be around for a while.

So make sure to pick the bird that you can enjoy, because they are not just commodities that you can throw away if you no longer want them to be around.

Most people would get a pet bird because they thought that they are “low-maintenance pets”. Unfortunately for them, they would face the truth that birds are not like that.

Like any other animals, birds would need social and physical attention from their owners. There are studies showing pet birds developing behavioral problems because their owners neglect them.

How can you make your pet bird happy?

A healthy bird is a happy one. When caring for pet birds, it is important to take note of their diet, housing and other social needs. There are some bird owners, who were overwhelmed of their pet responsibilities that they either give up their pets or their pets escaped from their homes.

Here are some things to remember to make our little feathered companions happy.

Shelter and Cage

When choosing a cage for a pet bird, make that there should be enough room for them to move. It is ideal for small birds to have perches where they can hop to, while big birds should have enough room to spread their wings without touching the sides of the cage.

Perches should also be in different sizes. This would remove any possibility of birds hurting their feet for staying in one position. The perches should also provide access to food and water.

There are also some bird toys which you can give to your birds. There are some bird toys which can come in very low prices or sometimes given away for free. It is just a matter of looking.

You can also try providing some “natural” comfort to your birds. Like safe and edible plants and non-toxic wood inside the cage.

When choosing a location in your house where you can put the bird cage, keep the bird in a safe and quiet environment. Kitchen is a no-no. Cleaning and cooking fumes can get dangerous to birds.

It is also important for birds to get direct sunlight. Similar to humans, birds also need vitamin D.

Bird cages should also be cleaned every day. You can use water and minimal amount of bleach to kill the bacteria. When cleaning the bird cages, move the bird in a safe place. The cleaning fumes can be bad for the birds.

Nutrition and Grooming

Bird food is not solely bird seeds. Some pet owners think that bird seeds are just enough, seed only diet can result to early death. Birds’ diet should include vegetables, fruits, grains and dairy food.

Avoid processed meat and food with high sugar content. Avoid feeding avocadoes and chocolates, they are high in sugar. Constant fresh water should be supplied to birds.

Bathing opportunity should be provided to birds. There are different options, you can put a shallow dish where birds can take a bath. Some birds would prefer to be given a shower under a faucet or you can spray them with water. Bathing is important especially if the bird is suffering molting.

Birds also need to sleep. Make sure that the place where the cage can be silent and dark enough for the bird to sleep.

Socialization

Birds are social creatures. You just don’t put them in a cage and just watch them from time to time. You would also need to give them time to make them happy.

There were studies that have showed that parrots being neglected by their owners developed behavioral problems like feather plucking.

You can put your bird’s cage in the family room where family members can frequently see the bird and spend time with it. Free flight also provides great health benefits to your bird.

Even if the bird cage is big enough, it still does not provide enough physical stimulation and movement to your pet. You can stay with your pet and with your family in the family room. Not only do you get to spend time with your pet bird, you also get to spend time with your family.

How much did you spend for your pet bird? You probably spent a few hundreds and if you don’t want to throw that money to waste, you have to learn how to keep your pet bird alive.

How to keep your pet bird alive?

1. Feeding your pet bird is easy since you can buy pellets or seeds from the store. If you want to spice up their diet a bit, never give them chocolate, certain fruits and vegetables which have proven to be toxic.

2. Apart from food, your pet bird will also need water. If your pet bird is not hydrated properly, they will die. This can happen if the water bottle you placed in the bird cage is not working properly so this has to be checked regularly.

3. Birds need to have to wings clipped. This allows the bird to gracefully land prevent it from flying erratically.

4. You have probably heard that birds must never be kept near windows and drafts but have no idea why. Well, one good answer is to prevent the birds from inhaling toxic fumes which can if the bird is placed near the kitchen.

5. Aside from fumes coming from the kitchen, you can keep your bird alive if you do not smoke or use any household cleaning agents near them. Birds that happen to inhale them may soon experience irritation, a host of respiratory problems and death.

6. Birds require big cages so they can spread their wings while they are inside. This will also prevent them from bumping their heads on the sides which may cause an internal injury which you are not aware of.

7. Some bird owners have other pets inside the house. If you are like them, be sure that when they are out of the cage, you are always there. If it should be another bird, make sure that the two are locked up in separate cages since some species cannot coexist together.

8. Your pet bird needs to take a bath on a regular basis. You can do this by letting them wash themselves using a bowl or with a shower hose. When giving them a bath, never use soap or shampoo as this will damage their natural oil. Let them dry naturally or with a towel and never with a hair dryer as this can burn them.

9. Owners who want to bring their bird wherever you are going must never leave it in the car. This is because they could die due to excessive heat, especially when the temperature is very humid.

10. Don’t forget to bring your pet bird to the vet for his or her regular checkup. If you sense that there is something wrong with your bird, bring them immediately over to the clinic for a closer examination because doing nothing just makes matters worse.

11. Lastly, never let your bird sleep outside the cage. There is no telling what can happen while you are asleep so instead of taking that risk, it is best to put them back inside and just see them again when you wake up in the morning.

Although you cannot always foresee what dangers lie in the future for your pet bird, it will be able to live for a long period of time as long as you know how to do it right. If you need help, consult with your veterinarian.

To make sure that they will enjoy the process, you can give them animals that are easy to handle. For this purpose, you can choose to give your kids pet birds. But you also have to be careful about the species that you should give to your kids.

Choosing pet birds for kids

To start with, you can bring them along with you at the pet store where you will buy the birds. Let them choose based on appearance and guide them by telling the pros and cons of such choice.

Kids are usually fascinated with pets. Your role here is to make sure that they become good providers and friends to their birds.

This learning process will only be successful if you will serve as a good leader. You must teach them good values regarding the process. You may also choose to reward them for the good deeds that they will be able to share with their pets.

You should also help them in choosing accessories for their birds. You can also start teaching them about the value of money. You can give them certain amount that they can allot for the expenses that they have to spend on their pets.

To help your kids more about the deciding phase, here are some types of birds that you may want to suggest to them. These are easy to handle and they will surely learn a lot from them. And they will also be able to share vital lessons to these birds.

Types of pet birds for kids

1. Budgies or Parakeets

Kids love these types because they are colorful and pretty. They can be touched and can tolerate the petting that your kids may subject them to.

They are small and easy to carry around even by your small tots. They are gentle in nature and develop good bonding with their masters.

Your kids will surely be delighted to have them around as companion. These are sweet in nature and they will easily oblige to your child’s requests, making the relationship harmonious between the bird and your child.

2. Finches

These kinds only need minimal interaction. This attitude is perfect for kids who tend to engage themselves in so many things and activities.

These birds will not mind even if their owners spend little time with them. Young kids will surely enjoy the soothing music that these birds can create. They can emulate chatter and soft chirps that will sound like beautiful noise to your kids’ ears.

You can opt to get more than one finch so that they will have companions even if your kids don’t have much time to allot with their pets. But these types should not be taken out of their cages. That is a vital factor that you must teach your kids from the very beginning.

3. Cockatiels

These types are ideal for young and even older kids. But the owners must be able to spend quality time with them for the birds to be happy all the time. Your children will be delighted with the attitude of these birds.

They will surely look forward at being with them after a hard day at school. They can teach these kinds to talk, making it such a delight for your child especially when they have become successful in the project.

They can also teach them to whistle their favorite tunes. These birds can also learn simple tricks as long as your child pays enough time and attention to teach their pet birds how.

Your pet bird should visit the vet on a regular basis. While you might think any doctor can best treat your bird, it is better to consult with someone who specializes in these creatures.

Such a person is called an avian veterinarian.

Looking for avian veterinarian

When you go around looking for avian veterinarian, it is best that this person belongs to the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV).

Specialists who are members of this organization have 6 or more years of experience dealing with birds. In fact, there are only 100 certified avian veterinarians worldwide and you are lucky to have one who happens to be residing near where you live.

But what if you are not able to find a bird doctor who is certified by the AAV? When this happens, you have to consult with an avian veterinarian based on the recommendations of other bird owners or through word of mouth.

If you don’t have friends who own birds, try talking to bird breeders and organizations which are into owning and caring for birds just like you. Your other options will be to look through the phone directory or online and then set an appointment.

When you visit their clinic, discuss what you expect from them and pay attention to the answers they give you. It will be nice to know how long they have been working on birds, what equipment or training do they have and how your bird is behaving with them.

It will also be very important to know if they can be contacted or consulted whenever there is an emergency. If they are not available, someone they know and trust should be able to give you and your bird the same amount of attention.

One other thing you should check before or after talking to a potential avian doctor is to see if the place is clean and if the people who work there are friendly. Naturally, you don’t want your bird to stay overnight for observation if the place is unsanitary as a disease from another bird could infect your own.

Once you have finished interviewing a list of potential candidates, it will be easy to choose which one will be the doctor for your pet bird.

A good bird doctor will not only talk to you whenever your pet has a problem but also offer tips so you can handle minor problems on your own. You might be taught how to sense if something is wrong and what to do until you are able to bring the bird over.

Part of that includes having the right avian first aid supply at home. This includes having a carrier large enough to carry the bird since the cage may not always fit in the car.

Some cotton swabs, gauze tape, tubing, betadine and a host of other things are also needed so make sure you have a sufficient supply of these items at all times.

The veterinarian is your best friend whenever there is something wrong with your pet bird.

Tired of coming home and having puddles all over the house, the cat meowing as if you have left for a weeks on end.

All of this is natural to a cat, even as it is annoying to us most the time. Just remember your cat has never learned any different.

Natural cat training

Let us look at natural cat training. One of the first things we have to learn is the natural instincts and behavior of a cat.

Kittens are born with a great sense of smell, before they can even see. This is a sense that you will want to help build in a kittens life, in order for growth to a cat, the sense will continue to be strong. A cat will live with in its or territory if they have their scent around the area.

As a kitten, you will want to have the kitten explore as many possibilities as it can. Like taking, the cat to the groomers when you have not taking the kitten when they are young, the outcome will be disasters if you wait until they are a full-grown cat. Kittens and cats need the socialization in order to prevent bad experiences.

When taking the kitten out you will want to use a pet carrier for this. Put kitten’s favorite blanket, pillow maybe a favorite toy. With putting these items in the pet carrier will help kitty smell its own scent and will want to go in the carrier easier.

Cats do become accustom to our routine around the house. If we have a routine of everyday say getting up for work and comes, a day that we can sleep in, kitty is not going to let you do that. This is like breaking kitty’s routine, and cats do not like breaking routine. Cats also do not like it when things are not in place around the house or if something new enters the house, like a pair of new shoes. Cats with a keen smell will be able to tell something is not right and will go and check it out.

Here are some thoughts that you can use if you are going to natural cat train your cat:

Going on the internet and check out recourses to help you more with the changes are a good idea, talk to your local vet, or look for books that will help.

Setting a goal. Set a goal for the behavior that you need to change. Think of options for training your cat to reach the goal.

Step by step. You will want to take time and lots of patience to do this. Remember kitty has done this since it was born. Rushing your kitten will do nothing for the both of you. .

Patience, Patience and more patience for you and for the kitten will be necessary for the kitten to view the change as good one.

Last, if the kitten encounters loss of appetitive stress over the behavior change, this is a good time to stop and reevaluate the process.

Cats will learn by experience. When the experience is good, your cat will try to repeat it. If the experience is unpleasant, your cat will not be willing to try it in the future.

Always remember to reward your kitten or cat when the behavior is good. However, if the behavior is not good remember not to get mad, reprimand the cat for the behavior with out a reward. Do not give in and feed a kitten or cat when they do something that you think that they want to eat. Your kitten or cat needs to have a set time to eat and stick to it. Not before or after this will not work for training.

Remember to give your kitten or cat a hug today.

Leash training, like any other training, a cat will require the proper tools, research, patience and practice. Cats are smart and sensitive, which you will never want to use force or physical threats on a cat. Any of the force behaviors that you use on the cat will only result in a cat fearing you.

You will be the one that will have to change the behavior in Good words used, the cat’s name, and the behavior the cat is doing. Like tabby, you are not to do that climbing on the table. Treats are another way of showing your cat for good behavior. Use small treats; you do not want them to have a full meal when training them. Later after the good behavior is recognized, you will be able to phase the treats, so that you do not have to use them any more.

Treats should be just that treats. Never use the cat’s dinner food for treats. Use good healthy treats in small portions. Do not give large amounts, as this is a treat and not the dinner.

Leash training your cat

Training your cat to be on a leash or wear a collar can take time. This time should be set a side to do the training. Do not ever start training a cat for a behavior and stop. If you ever want to start, again, the cat can become confused and very stressful. If the cat gets sick or an illness, this it self will be stressful on a cat and you will have to stop the training. At this time, you will want to get the cat to the vet.

After the sickness or illness, is taken care of, you can continue the training, also during this time you will want to gently and carefully want to maintain the step of training your cat is at. This will reinforce the training that you have done and can continue.

Next, you will want to seek out good equipment for the leash training of the cat. Looking at the equipment, you will want to keep in mind that a cat’s neck is thin-skinned. Harness are great for walking cats, keeping your cat safe, trying to get away, and much more comfortable to the cat. A light short leash would be perfect for walking. Do not get a long one, as you will want the cat close to you for danger is near. In addition, you are walking the cat the cat is not walking you.

You will need to work with your cat once you get the harness, so that the cat will be happy with it on. Use steps in doing this like, let the cat look it over to get their scent on it, after that apply the harness on carefully and remove it. Do this until the cat is comfortable with the harness on in the house. Do not take the cat outside to do this. Your cat will try to get away and with being outside you have no borders for the cat to stay in.

Once you have accomplished those steps, and the cat is happy with the harness then start with the leash. Walk the cat in side before trying outdoors. Once you see that cat is happy with this step, now is the final training.

Take the cat outside and do walking in the yard until you and the cat feel comfortable. Make sure the cat is walking with you and you are not pulling the cat with the leash. You cat at first will be distracted with many things that the outside world has to offer.

Training your cat on a leash has advantages not only for walking but also for other trainings. Taking your cat to a vet, instead of the carrier, you might try the leash once the cat is comfortable with using the leash.

Reward your cat each step of the way, and happy trails to you and your cat.

Training a cat has been great interest to people, as to weather you can train a cat or not. Cats are independent animals, which leads people to believe training will not be able to be done. With the different personalities, characteristic or species peculiarities in cats, Training can be fun in training a cat.

Looking for a good trainer takes time and work to do, some one that claim they have been working with cats for years are not always seem, what they appear to be. Ask this person how many cats that they train a year. This will give you an idea if they have really trained a cat or just seem to think they are a trainer.

Asking the right people for the right information is going to lead you to the best trainer for you and the cat. Asking friends or the vet for information about training will not be a great idea. A trainer can tell when the behavior is a medical problem and will lead you to the vet, as they are the ones that deal with the medical problem and the trainer with the training problem.

We ourselves would not go to a heart doctor if our foot is hurting. Putting a cat on drugs for behavior problems is not a good idea until you are sure that the behavior is not a genetic or psychotic one. You can spend a lot of time and money if you are not careful with finding a good trainer.

When considering a trainer there are a few areas, which can help you in searching:

What is the approach they take? Is it flexible enough for the cat and you? Anyone sticking to certain way of training is not a trainer that you should consider and looking for. Treats, negative reinforcement, and punishment will not be answer in training your cat.

Communication and to communicate clearly, are they able to do this. Big words, terminology will not help in the training of the cat or the communication with you and your cat.

Not only cat skill do they possess but also people skills, you and your cat both will be working with them. Can they teach you properly how to doing things with your cat.

Considering an individual cat or are they more interested in solving the problem. Training a cat can be easy. With different breed of cats and personalities, each cat needs consideration.

Teaching skills, are the skills, something that you and your cat able to do. Being successful for you and the cat is very important as part as training. You will need to be able to learn skills from the trainer to help your cat with the training. The trainer will not be at the home all the time.

How long in the profession for training a cat. Find one that been in the business for a while and with a stable business, not one that may pack and leave before the training is done and once the training is done you may need contact with them for some situations.

Humane methods that they use trust, understanding, respect are good traits for a trainer.

Harsh techniques will not be good enough for the cat as for you and is not a good practice and the trainer should not be a trainer.

Are you comfortable and is your cat comfortable around this trainer. If you or your cat is not comfortable with the trainer, the time and money that you put in for the training will be as effective as the training of your cat. They will not be able to. In addition, the cat will not allow the training to be.

Finding a good trainer looks like a real job to take on. Remembering the simple area to look at will help you with the job. Most important one will be communication. If you and your cat are unable to communicate with the trainer, there is no training.

With the proper research, you and your cat will be on your way to a great training session.

Learning cat behavior before you start training them would be a good idea for anyone that is going to train a cat’s behavior.

Learning about cat behavior

A cat can jump and lands on its feet as this particular cat behavior is natural instinct for a cat. When a kitten is first born, the cushion in a kittens paws are not developed with the cushion to land on its feet. It takes about 7 weeks to develop the cushion in a cats paw for landing.

A cat’s bone structure is unique to other animals as the bones are flexible, cat has no collar bone, which enables them to be able to twist and bend their bones.

A cat can jump from short distant with out sustaining any injuries. With this behavior, you will want to teach the cat to jump hoops, sticks, or off the scratching tree. Letting a cat jump from extreme heights will cause injury to the cat.

Cats have a unique hearing ability. They are able to hear high tones and pitches, like opening a door or a can of food.

Cats also have unique smelling abilities. The reason a cat will scratch or urinate on the floor , rub its self up against a door or furniture, is the cat is leaving their scent in that areas so they will be able to come back and know they were there, in other words marking its territory. In addition, if another cat or animal comes along in the area a cat will know this.

Cats can also smell with their mouths. There is a gland call ‘Jacobson’s organ’, it is a sac in the cats upper mouth filled with blood, as the cat smells the scent and the slightly opens their mouth and upper lip, this allows the scent to be carried in and to the sac, which it will carry the scent goes to the cat brain. This mostly happen to male cats when a female has urinated.

With these natural instinct, learning about cat behavior can give you some insight to help you train you cat. With behavior training you will want to make sure that you allow your cat the ability in some way to play out it natural instincts and behaviors.

Things to look out while training for cat behavior

When training your cat for behaviors here are some things that you need to look at and take in consideration when training.

Aggression: Especially in older cats, this particular cat behavior can be cause from illness, other cats in the home. This you may want to contact your vet to have the cat check out to see if it is all right at this time to train a cat.

Depression and anxiety: Even this could play another part while training your cat for good cat behavior. If a cat is separated by it recent owner the cat can become depressed. Stress on a cat can be common effect on a cat.

If you think that your cat has depression or high anxiety, this would be a good time to take the cat to the vet. Vets can talk to you about some of the things that may be causing this and a help list to help the cat. There are medications for this particular cat behavior that a vet can prescribe for the cat to help with depression and anxiety.

Fear: This is very dangerous cat behavior. Never hit a cat for a punishment the cat will learn to fear you, and fearing will be a behavior you will not be able to control or retrain. When they do something that is not right. Ignore the problem or if you catch them right a way you can associate a noise with that behavior on what you do not like or just in a stern voice tell them “NO”.

If training your cat for good cat behavior is becoming impossible you may have to resort to the baby proof home, all containers that have food in them have a lid on it. Make sure that the counters are clean and have nothing that a cat would want to play with.

The day that you get your cat or kitten, you will want to start training at this point. This will keep many unwanted cat behavior away, and hopefully not let any new behaviors to start. Healthy cats need healthy relationships with their owner.

With multi, cats can play rough. Outdoor cats that stay outside or can go outside will also play rough with other cats.

Biting your ankles or arms can be play for your cat. Cats that have extra energy to play and have difficulty finding ways to release their energy can be a very playful cat.

What is the difference in playing and fighting with the cats?

Cats that are not familiar with each other can be fighting and not playing. Dominant of one cat to another, screaming, hissing continuously during what looks like the playing are signs of fighting.

In addition, if a cat gets hurt, this is a signs cats are not playing. This is a sign of your cats are really fighting. This is important to learn and get additional information about especially if your cat is an outdoors cat and encounters another cat. You will be able to tell if fighting or playing is going on. Leaving your cat outside and not know the playing for fighting can have effects on your cat’s behaviors and stability for going outside again.

Distraction is the best way to separate fighting cats. With any type of interfering can cause pain to both you and the cats. Make a loud noise, firm voice, cats do not like loud noises this is a good way. Have spray bottles handy to use. Cats do not like to be sprayed with water and this will stop them. Once they have stop immediately separate the cats with close doors, so they are not able to see each other. This aggression will need to be dealt with carefully.

Allowing cats to continue to fight will end up with a cat being hurt and with fighting; this could cause diseases in the cats. This will become expensive with having to take the cat to the veterinarian for medication and some time stays at the vets for care and treatment.

Cat play is a natural for a cat and you should not interfere with the playing. Exposing other actives for the cats can help with the playing, when the playing seem to get to intense. Have plenty of toys for the cats to play with, their own scratch post, or their own area to play in.

With multi cats in a home, you will want to create an environment for each cat to have a place to feel comfortable. Some cats are able to adapt to other cats in the home and share. With different breeds and natures of the cat, will also depend on the cats being able to share one area.

There are cat breeds that are just naturally a single pet and will not fit in the home with the presents of other cats or dogs around. These types of cats will have high stress and quick aggression towards other cats. You can get more information on the type of breeds that will live together and those that need their space. There are plenty of books and internet sites for you to check out.

Hitting your cats will not accomplish any thing; this will make your cat fear you, as this will lead to no communication with your cat. Training will be impossible, as communication is the most important thing, when training your cat. Physical punishment to any animal is never a good thing to any animal. Remember your cat is a companion and a friend. We, as humans, would never physical or mentally hurt our love ones or friends.

Remember if the cats are not fighting and are just playing with each other, this is a sign of good communication with each other. Allowing the communication to continue will help the relationship with the cats and with you. Communication is a great tool, when trying to train your cat.
