10 Hi-Tech Shoes for Geeks

These awesome sneaks and shoes go high tech, with features like GPS navigation and cleaning power.

1. Pioneer shoes:

Pioneer has come up with a design for a new light-up shoe that converts kinetic energy into electrical energy. This shoe is designed for those who love to go for walking, jogging or running at night.

The tiny battery present inside the shoe charges up with each step which keeps the headlights on for full 12 hours dispersing light up to 1.5 meters away. But, you have to wait to use them as it is a concept for now.

2. Electrolux Vacuum Shoes:

Electrolux have come up with new vacuum cleaner shoe concept design. Looks like a pair of slippers, these shoes will clean up dirt as you shamble. But, one drawback is you have to walk around the house wearing the shoes.

3. RFID Embedded Shoes:

To avoid the shoplifting, Reno European shoe manufacturers have come up with a new design. RFID tags are embedded by Reno in all the shoes instead of installing cameras in their stores.

These tags will be able to track the thieves who walk out with a new pair of shoes, unpaid. After you purchase the shoes, the tags will be deactivated.

4. MP3 Shoes:

You can now listen to the music without carrying mp3 player or other devices. Check out these shoes which feature an integrated CD-ROM, speakers, tweeters and a volume control knob to boot. It would be great if blue tooth functionality is used in this shoe.

5. Adidas Micropacer shoes:

If you have a habit of running for maintaining fitness, you will use pedometer to count your steps or use a stop watch to time your laps. A pair of shoes is also required to keep your feet safe from all injuries. Adidas Micopacer shoes are designed to do all the work for you. A microcomputer is built into the tongue that counts your steps and also keeps track of your time.

6. WiFi detecting shoes:

If you don’t want to pay for your internet use when you are out, then you are probably looking for free wireless type. If you work from home, you can build a WiFi predator. But, if you like to work from outside, you need a pair of WiFi detecting shoes. With a built-in WiFi detector, you can detect the signal easily.

The shoes blink if you don’t have a signal and stay on when you have one within 50m. You can find the right time to work on your laptop.

7. NSSs Non Stop Shoes:

Designed by Emili Padros, these sneakers collect energy as you walk. Remove the shoes and use the energy to power a lamp at the end of the day. Team up the shoes of whole family to power a large appliance.

8. Aphrodite Platform Heels:

With a built-in alarm system, these “Aphrodite” platform heels emit a piercing noise to scare the attackers. As these are equipped with GPS receiver, push of a button can locate the exact location of a troubled person for emergency services.

9. NES Sneakers:

These sneakers have working Nintendo Entertainment System built into the bottom of a sneaker. Apparently, a worldwide touring sneaker show known as the “Sneaker Pimps” features over 1,000 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage, and celebrity signed sneaks.

What would make this system even cooler is; if some DIY’er rigged a shoebox into a screen to play the system on!
