ITIL Certification – Library Certification That Provides Guidance To Organizations
Posted under Certification, EDUCATION & TRAINING on Dec 7, 2008
Are you working in the IT service industry? You probably have heard about the ITIL and its certifications. Well, the ITIL or Information Technology Infrastructure Library is basically an integrated, process based and best practice framework designed and developed for the managing IT services.
The library has been offering and providing a set of guidance to organizations on how to properly create and operate a service desk that will be useful for the foundation of an efficient channel of communication between the IT provider and the user community.
The ITIL was originally developed for the IT industry in the United Kingdom central government. However, as more and more organizations have recognized the benefits it provides, the ITIL has then become relevant to all organizations in the whole world, so does its certifications.
Foundation ITIL certification-first type of certification:
Speaking of certifications, the ITIL currently provides three major types of such credentials. The first and the most well-known is the so-called “Foundation ITIL certification”. This certification type is designed mainly to introduce people into the processes and relations in the IT industry.
It allows people to understand everything about the terminology used within the industry and is so-called “Foundation” for the reason that it focuses much on the foundation knowledge that has something to do with the ITIL service support and service delivery sets. Being the foundation of knowledge, it is expected that this type of certification will also cover the generic philosophy and background of the library.
This type of certification has been deemed important for those who want to obtain the Practitioner’s and Manager’s Certificates in the Information Technology service management. As what the ITIL has maintained, this certification is but a prerequisite for them.
Practitioner certification-second type of ITIL certification:
The second type of ITIL certification is the Practitioner certification. As the name implies, this certification is designed primarily for the specialist in the design and execution of the processes. The main focus of this certification is the understanding of the specific processes involved in the IT service management discipline. But as part of the training, the people qualified for this certification are also taught the proper application of the processes involved.
Manager ITIL certification-third type of ITIL certification:
Finally, there is the Manager’s ITIL certification. This type is designed and introduced to suit the experienced professionals who want to involve themselves in the different functions that surround the managing IT service management. Those who are trained for this certification are expected to be highly responsible in the set up and implementation of the library itself.
These types of certifications are considered nowadays as a worldwide phenomenon. The certifications are already considered and used by a number of organizations of all shapes and sizes throughout the world. And, with the ever growing demands for excellent trainings for IT service management certifications, the ITIL has continually developed their systems just to meet the organizations’ demand.
