How Can You Connect Windows With Nano Ipod?
Posted under ELECTRONICS & GADGETS, iPod on Feb 15, 2009
Now you have it i.e., Nano IPod. You went out and bought a $250 gadget and don’t have the first clue as to how Nano IPod works.
Haven’t you all done this at one time? Sure, you have, so don’t feel bad. Nano IPod will be nice if you could just beat half the technical devices you own up against a rock and Nano IPod starts working forever. Unfortunately, this is not how Nano IPod works.
Steps for connecting windows with Nano Ipod:
Installing Software
Whether you have a Mac or PC, your Nano IPOD came complete with software, which you will need to install. If you own a MAC, the software will mechanically convert your information over to the proper functional formats that Nano IPOD is compatible. Windows converts to FAT32 while MAC converts or optimizes rather to HFS.
Sorry, don’t yell, didn’t realize you were technically disadvantaged. No big deal. You went to school and achieved two Associate degrees in computers and now you are technically disadvantaged also. Anyway, FAT is a File Allocation Table that stores files onto your system. If this table is corrupted, your computer is out of business.
Macs HFS is a Hierarchical File Sys. This is where Mac stores files onto the hard drive. You won’t need to worry about optimizing, since the software will automatically handle this process for you.
Windows Optimizing Installation
You may need to follow steps in optimizing the software programs if you are installing on a standard computer. You will have a pop-up box with a systematic guide.
Downloading ITUNES Programs onto a Hard Drive
You will also need to download and install iTunes program, since this is what most Nano IPods refer as their friends. This program enables you to download, purchase, and play music from a play list or library into Nano IPods. You can also rip, burn, download, and transfer files from this program to your Nano IPod. Rather, this program is what you will need to perform all the named actions for your Nano IPods.
You recommend the latest version, since this is up-to-date and has more to offer than the previous versions of Nano IPod. Not only this, if you keep all Nano Ipod software on your computer updated it will spare you in the future from performing technical actions.
Transferring Files
Once you have installed the program or software that came with your Nano Ipod you are now ready to plug your Nano Ipod into your computer. You will notice a cord that came with your Nano IPod, which is called a USB Cable.
This cable connects to a USB Port at the back or front of your computer. Now you are ready for transferring files, data, photos, music and more to your hard drive. The FIREWIRE is what you will need to charge your Nano Ipod if it exceeds the battery limit.
During Transfer
After you have selected the music to transfer and the process is in the making, DO NOT stop, or unplug the Nano Ipod until the update is fully completed. Doing so could corrupt files. Once you see a message that the process is completed near the source list, then you can hit eject and unplug your Nano IPod.
Now you have completed the transferring process and are on your way to listening to your favorite tunes.
Tip
Use your Nano Ipod cautiously, since you’ve learnt that these Nano IPods are easily scratched. Who in the heck wants to pay almost three hundred bucks for a machine all to find it is corrupted.
Since Nano IPods first came out, they have certainly made new headway. Now everyone and their brother is buying these wacky gadgets. Therefore, if you have Nano IPods, you also have a manual, which you recommend you employ to learn more about your new Nano IPOD.
