So you have decided to set up your own lawn care business. Good for you. There certainly is a large market out there for exactly that kind of endeavor and you will surely do well, provided you have the right tools. The lawn care software is one such tool.
With the increasing demand of lawn care services, lawn care businesses have their hands full. It’s a good thing then they have things like the lawn care software at their disposal.
The lawn care software is a specially designed program to help lawn care businesses simplify their business process, including billing and accounts.
That way, lawn care business owners can focus less on the paperwork and more on providing professional help to their consumers.
Below are some of the issues that you may encounter while using the lawn care software and how to overcome them:
How to Enter and Charge for Services
Entering the services is one of the processes that are performed by the lawn care software on a regular basis. First, note that there is a difference between setting up your customer’s regular service and actually charging them for a service that has been performed.
The lawn care software will not be able to distinguish between a service entry and an actual charge, so it will be up to you to avoid any confusion of the two.
The good news is that entering your regular services for each customer location as well as their respective service charges is a one-time setup process and is very simple to do.
And once the services have been entered in your lawn care software, they will automatically show up in the screen where you are going to make the actual charge.
The only thing left for you to do then is to select the service or services you have rendered and charge your customer with the associated fee.
Missing Information in the Invoices or Bills
Another common issue that lawn care business owners encounter with the lawn care software is some missing customer information, particularly in areas like services, payments, amount overdue or previous balances.
There are a number of reasons why this happens. First, it might be possible that it is a printer-related problem. If you are using a color printer with your lawn care software, then replace any ink or toner cartridges that may be empty.
Second, it is also possible that the lawn care software may just be experiencing a minor glitch. This sometimes happen if you are printing an invoice-type invoice. You can correct this by printing a statement-type invoice instead.
Third, check the beginning and ending date range of the billing period in the lawn care software.
It is possible that those charges and payments that do not fall within the selected range is not included in the activity section of the invoice, and thus, did not print. You can also try checking a specific customer’s account history to verify.
And lastly, be sure that the text colors of the lawn care software’s activity screen were not changed to white.
