Scotts

As the Scott’s Lawn Care Company’s original brands, Scotts dates back to the 1900s. It was around that time when Dwight Scott, the founder’s son, began offering high quality grass seed by mail in the U.S.

As early as then, the company has recognized that grass has special nutritional needs that other companies have yet to discover for themselves.

That special need, of course, needed to be addressed and Scott’s Lawn Care came up with a fertilizer that is specifically designed according to that need. Come 1928, Scotts brand introduced the Turf Builder, the world’s first consumer lawn fertilizer.

Today, the Scotts brand continues to produce grass seed for consumer lawns. Scott’s Lawn Care guarantees a 99.9% weed free grass seed for consumers, including various blends and more than 20 exclusive grass varieties.

Each variety is selected specifically to fit the different growing conditions and uses in the geographic regions the Scott’s Lawn Care Company serves.

In addition to grass seed, the Scotts brand also offers a full-line of lawn and garden fertilizers: Turf builder, Starter, Halts, Bonus S, Turf Builder with Fire Ant and Southern Turf Builder, with formulas targeted at weed, insect, and moss control and warm and cool season grasses.
