Be Safe, Be Aware — Read Ice Fishing Reports In Your Fishing Area
Posted under Ice Fishing, RECREATION on Sep 26, 2007
In every sport, event, or activity there is, it can’t be avoided that at one time or another, there are accidents or mishaps or disasters that has happened. It may be because such activities are risky or because the environment is not that safe or because the event is plain dangerous.
There are also some occasions that may look okay and safe but because of certain incidents and cases, that particular day may not be a good one for you but a fun day for the others. And this holds true in almost anything you do or anywhere you go.
Take ice fishing as an example, it really is not dangerous if you think about it, but because you are in an open area and on ice and with certain sharp-edged tools and equipments, etc., it is likely that you may encounter accidents no matter how careful you may be.
Surely, these accidents can be evaded, by observing appropriate precautions. One thing that you must look into are the ice fishing reports — you may check the weather forecast, or you can read the past ice fishing reports of the area to check when the perfect time to go fishing on the iced lake will be, or you can ask the bureau in your area for ice fishing guidelines and tips, or other available public records in the internet or in your library or in your ice fishing unit for updated facts and information.
Well, you may actually just go out and enjoy ice fishing without checking but be sure that you are willing and ready to take that risk. Who knows that that particular day, a blizzard is on its way to your area, and because you don’t really check any kind of ice fishing reports, you are not aware of this thing coming.
Another example would be, if you insist on going to the lake, without first consulting the newly release ice fishing reports in your area, then you have surely missed the announcement that for the next couple of days, it wouldn’t be advisable to fish on the lake as the snow has thinned out and it may not be able to hold several ice fishing houses.
You have to know that ice fishing reports are there not just because they want to advertise of what’s going on in the area or because they want to announce new events and activities or because they are implementing new rules and guidelines in your area, a bigger reason for these ice fishing reports being released to the public regularly is because it is there to warn you, advise you, and protect you.
It would be sad and bad for you if you don’t heed these ice fishing reports.
