Summer is here with its beautiful glorious sun and long days that make it just perfect to grab a hiking back pack and get on the hiking track. Hiking is a great exercise for both body and mind. It brings you closer to nature and its beauty.
When hiking you wants to travel light, at the same time you don’t want to leave anything behind because should you be out of anything up in the mountains it is likely that you will not find any convenience store.
A good hiking back pack is a great buy, sometimes even a life saver. So you need to get the right hiking back pack in order to fit everything you need on the hiking trip and anything you may need as well.
Depending on the length of your trip you can choose between a day hiking back pack or a multiple day hiking pack back.
Making A Choice
When you choose a hiking back pack you need to ensure that it has sturdy shoulder straps which have plenty padding and curves. Zips are very important as well; usually zips with big teeth are very durable and strong.
Waist strap is also a must during hiking; it gets your hiking back pack to move with you not against your movements slowing you down and making you tired at the same time.
Last but not least the material the hiking back pack is made of is what will keep your articles safe and ready for you to use when needed.
The hiking back pack is obviously for carrying the items you need and may need on the trip. Here is a brief list of items you must not leave without:
- Water is always first on the list. Take as much as possible; hiking will always get you dehydrated and your body will need water to gain its strength.
- Iodine tables are a good item to pack as you can treat the water you may get along the way.
- Food of course is next on the list. Try and pack meals separately so you don’t have to open and expose food every time you want a bite. It will save on space and you will not take more then you need.
- Get a detailed map of the place you are about to tour, a compass, first aid kit. A lighter, a torch, sunscreen, insect repellant cream, spare batteries, rope, knife and a roll of toilet paper.
- Depending on the length of the trip, you may also need a sleeping bag and cooking items should you stay overnight
Packing your hiking back pack is yet a very important issue. You need to be very organized and keep items related together which will make it easier for you to find them when Needed.
