Miscellaneous Running Gear For Fun And Convenience
Posted under Running, SPORTS on Sep 8, 2007
Many people run or jog as a way of exercising and having fun at the same time.
In this light, manufacturers have made special Running Gear to make running both a healthful and enjoyable exercise.
First on the list of running gear are hydration systems similar to those used by soldiers. A hydration system holds water or energy fluid so that runners can replenish their lost moisture.
The bladder, or the part where the water or fluid is stored, is clipped on the belt or strapped at the back. Attached to the bladder is a small hose which ends up in a special nozzle.
The runner sips the water through the nozzle, eliminating the need of carrying a water bottle. Music players are another miscellaneous running gear. Runners love listening to their favorite songs while running.
Presently, many people opt for the mp3 player or the iPod. They are smaller but can hold more songs than the old portable cassette or CD players. Because of their small size, they can be attached to the arm through the use of a special strap.
If you want to look cool while running, then sunglasses are a must-have running gear. Aside from being good to look at, sunglasses can protect your eyes from the sun’s glare and harmful ultra violet rays. Sunglasses keep away dust, debris and insects from your eyes while running.
Also, you might want to carry a few things such as a towel, energy bars, your cell phone and other things that you cannot hold in your hand while running.
A belt bag or a thigh bag is the perfect running gear for storing miscellaneous things. Be sure the bags are securely fastened. Bouncing bags can cause a lot of inconvenience.
There are also many types of running gear that runs on high technology. Perfect examples for these types of gears are some runner’s watches. Many runners’ watches incorporate features that aid them in their exercise.
These features include lap counters, stopwatches and chronographs. There are even some watches that monitor the runner’s heart beat! These features allow runners to check their own bodies’ capabilities.
Another high tech gadget for runners is the GPS or Global Positioning System. This is a very useful gear for people who do long distance running. A GPS tells your exact location anywhere in the globe.
With a GPS, chances of getting lost are very minimal and you would know exactly the way home. Investing in running gear such as this would surely make running hassle free and enjoyable.
